The hardware security refers to the protection of the physical device rather than the software installed on the hardware or the computer system. The security concept can refer to a device used to scan a system or monitor traffic. Some of the hardware security modules (HSM), provides the cryptographic keys for the critical functions such as encryption, decryption and authentication.

In case of the significant hardware and its functions, the added reliability and lower number of vulnerabilities are advisable.
