Obama is Against Cyberwar and Urges Russia to follow

Cyber war

Cyber attacks are getting acute in the west. Cyber criminals are not only targeting the business bodies but also the political entities. In a recent news, we came to know the cold cyber war between U.S and Russia. It has become the hottest topic all around the world. U.S and Russia they both are blaming each other. The main factor is still unclear for us. However, there are some evidence that shows Russia is trying to forge an invisible weapon to start a cyber war against the U.S.

When we talk about the evidence, we can talk about the recent activities of the Roman Seleznev, son of Russian MP, who was convicted by the U.S police under the hacking charges. As evidence shows that, Roman hacked millions of U.S card numbers and tried to sell the card info in the black market. Russian authorities claimed that the arrest was nothing but a political kidnap. On the other side, U.S law enforcement team said, they have got handful evidence to prove it. U.S secret agent also claimed that, this hacking spree was intentional and purely political.

But the question is why Russia and U.S wants to start a cyber war?

Well, the question has not been answered yet.

Obama asks Putin to look after the Cyber Attacks

Last September, U.S President Mr. Barack Obama participated in the G20 Summit in Hangzhou , China. He had a speech over there where he mentioned about the cyber cold war and warned the U.S nation. He named it as the cyber cold war-style arms race. Mr. Obama earnestly urged the Russian president, Mr. Putin , to manage the upgoing cyber war clashes between the U.S and Russia. Mr. Obama also said that the U.S is currently in the most defensive and offensive position against the cyber war in the world.

Stating an entirely new era of serious cyber warfare capabilities, Mr. Obama requested stepping into an area wherever leaders begin to institute some norms to forestall international escalation from spinning out of management. So, it’s clear that America doesn’t want a cyberwar that can lead to a serious political dysfunction.

Mr President quoted, “We’re going to have enough problems in the cyberspace with non-state actors who are engaging in theft and using the Internet for all kinds of illicit practices, and protecting our critical infrastructure, and making sure our financial systems are sound and what we cannot do is have a situation where this becomes the Wild, Wild West, where countries that have significant cyber capacity start engaging in competition — unhealthy competition or conflict through these means when, I think wisely, we’ve put in place some norms when it comes to using other weapons.”

Thoughts on Cyber War

So, as you can see the relationship between U.S and Russia is under hypertension. Some recent cyber attacks are showing the image that the political relationship between this two powerhouse might get worse in future which can lead us to face a serious disaster or war. If you are confused about the cyber attacks I am talking about, let me remind you that there were a series of Russian cyber attacks against the Democratic committee, Hillary’s presidential campaign. Some of those attacks resulted in some leaked and stolen information published on Wikileaks. Hillary Clinton claimed that Russia is probably trying to subvert the U.S presidential election and also trying to help Donald Trump, the Republican candidate.

However, according to the Senate minority leader Harry Reid, new evidence is coming to the light that shows the cyber attack attempts of Russia are actually to sabotage or ruin the U.S election. Reid wrote this to James Comey, director of FBI. Depending on this comment, FBI authorities also confirmed that they are running an investigation process to detect the attacks.

A Recent report tells us, foreign hackers breached the voting system in Illinois and Arizona. Hackers managed to steal all the private information of thousands of voters from Illinois. Spokespersons of Arizona secretary of state’s Matt Roberts claimed a suspicious foreign entity is using malware to get access to the statewide voting registration system. U.S authorities asked for help to the Russian embassy in the United States, but the Russian embassy dismissed the allegation and did not respond to the complaints of Kremlins link-up with the cyber attacks to the Democratic national committee or any other Govt. agencies.

Final Words

U.S is scared and worried about the entire probable cyber war with Russia.

They think that Russia will somehow be influencing U.S Presidential election. So, let’s wait and see how it happens. The election is not even a month away now.

However, it’s just a matter of time to see the result. It is a good thing to know that you shouldn’t lose yourself in that news, just by watching what hackers can do to the politicians, thinking that you’re ”small” and safe. No, sometimes, you’re the target of the hackers, because you’re the easier to reach. Maybe you run a small business, and your staff isn’t well trained for such events? You really need to consider getting the knowledge about the internet security tips.

Or maybe you have some important data for them, you don’t know. I would recommend you to stay safe and follow the cyber security tips!
