Son of Russian MP is a Hacker
Today we will be discussing a very shocking news of the current year. Maybe many of you have already heard about it, and many of you have not yet. What’s the news?
Roman Seleznev, son of Russian MP Valery Selenzeb, has been convicted by the court of Seattle, United States. He was convicted on the charges related to hacking many business entities in the US.
According to The Seattle Times , Roman was convicted of around 40 charges he faced and those charges were wire fraud, international damages to protected device, more than 15 illegal device possession and two count identity theft.

He somehow got the access into the POS system at many US-based businesses such as restaurants all over the Washington and Idaho to get all the credit card numbers. He successfully got millions of card numbers and sold them to the black market. This scenario costs all the card companies an enormous amount of loss. The estimated total damage was around $170 million.
The United States first identified the movement of Seleznev back in 2010. Finally, he gor caught in 2014 in Maldives. He had a laptop with him and almost 1.7 million stolen card numbers were there. However, Russian law enforcing authorities claimed that US has wrongfully arrested Roman and also described the arrest as kidnapping
Seleznev was facing prosecution by the prosecutors, and they have got 3 serious evidence against Seleznev. Those 3 shreds of evidence was illegal card numbers, some evidence of doubtful Google search result and a newspaper. All the shreds of evidence indicates the connection to the Seleznev’s hacking activities. The trial was successful.
Selenzev’s lawyers claimed that the way US authority followed to arrest a Russian was wrong. Selenzev’s defense team also suggests that there was no physical proof that ties Seleznev to the hacking activities and someone has changed the data of his laptop when he was in custody. But prosecutors said they used the computer just to scan virus and to check whether they can find any further evidence or not.
Roman wasn’t the only one, Police also captures his Russian girlfriend too. So, Russian authorities starts to complain there is politics mind game. On the other side, U.S secret service is saying that Russia is intentionally doing all these. U.S Secret service is not arresting hacker but trying to hunt down all the Russians around the world. However, Police arrested Selenzev for his conduct, not for his nationality, claimed U.S Department of Justice.
